Parent class will be offered once/twice a month - From 7:00pm to 9:00pm on a Thursday. Contact the school to schedule your Parent Class. Parent Class must be completed before a student can get in the car to begin their 18 hours.
The intention of the two-hour class is as follows:
laws and their restrictions.
It is important for parents/guardians to know the skills and behaviors that they should be modeling while driving so that they can coach and mentor their children to be safe and skilled drivers. You play a critical role in your teen's learning-to-drive process.
Here are some important actions you can take:
Start talking now. You have acquired "road wisdom" over the years and insight you'll want to share because it could save your teen from having to learn things the hard way. Talk about the learning-to-drive process and various factors involved. The more issues you address early, the safer and smoother the whole process will be.
Be a good role model. Your teen has been watching your driving habits for the last decade or so. And as your teen begins the learning-to-drive process, that focus will likely increase. So, make changes in your driving to prevent any poor driving habits from being passed on. Show you take driving seriously.
